This is what John sees when he is diving

[John’s Comment] Tragically, not so long ago, most of my best diving pictures were lost (no, that is not a “the big fish got away” story). Its true! Still, I have managed to assemble a collection of shots of me diving. And, I have included a few shots I have taken myself while diving. And for those of you that don’t believe I like diving with sharks and have actually done it, the proof is here. For many of the pictures, I apologize for the quality as they were scanned from original print photos. My comments are under each picture.

I'm chillin'. . . just chillin'.

My first dive . . . what a dolt!

Trying to act cool on that first dive.

About to mess something up on that first dive.

Caught in an underwater traffic jam.

Move over Leonardo I am the new king of the world.

John the spiderman diver.

Just a crack in the sea.

The only octopus that would ever sit still long enough for me to take a shot.

This stingray likes me entirely too much.

The problem with fish is they are not very cooperative.

Not such a good shot, but tarpon are not easy to get this close to.

My accomidations on the first sea safari I took in the Red Sea.

I always like to be first . . . especially off the back the boat.

Look what i found . . . a plane.

See . . . it really is a plane . . . and you can even go inside.

Still not sure if i saw that fish or accidentally shot rocks and got lucky.

This little was trying to hide, but I got him.

Yes, on good dives sites . . . bathrooms are provided.

This is what happens when you don't take care of your boat.

I have no idea where this shot was taken or who took it . . . the picture just appeared somehow.

I love the powerful detail of the sea . . . reminds me small things matter.

Obviously one of my earlier dives . . . only a rookie or a dolt would wave.

Not a very good shot I know . . . still, he is cute.

Look carefully . . . its not a rock.

A shark up close.

And this shark is even closer.

Here I really felt like bait, waiting for the sharks to come feed.

Yes that is me in the middle . . . often people don't believe I dive with sharks . . . here is the proof.

Kind of looks like they are trying to kiss, doesn't it.

Getting ready to feed the crowd.

This is the moment where I asked myself, "What am I doing here".

And the sharks just keep on coming.

Just so that you know . . . I am on the other end of that stick.

The color is not good here . . . still the shot of me feeding the sharks here I think is cool.

Looks like they are feeding on me here, doesn't it.

Obviously, this guy is not very lucky.

I saw this just floating on a night dive, have no idea what it is.

At night, everything opens up underwater.

Just a cool micro shot.

This guy is caught in a mild current.

A micro shot of where "nemo" lives.

Sea anemones look much cooler on video, since they are constantly moving.

A shot good enough for National Geographic.

I messed up this shot, still I especially like the coloring of this sea anemone.

A micro crab doing what he does in the sea.
